Maria Blanck is an accomplished watercolor artist who divides her time between Cape Cod, MA and Savannah, GA. Through the years, Maria’s interest in painting has been an exciting and educational journey which began at the DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA where she studied with renowned artist George Dergalis and learned the basics and versatility of the watercolor medium .  Her long term interest in art and design as well as her natural talents were nurtured, and flourished as time went by. Recently, she has experimented with oils, and is enjoying the learning process of this medium as well.

With her camera never far from her side, she seeks to capture special scenes or moments which appeal to her emotionally and visually.  With her uniquely personal vision she then uses these images as references in her studio, striving to create paintings which convey the exhilaration that exists all around us, through the bold and rich use of color and the juxtaposition of light and shadow.  Her dynamic paintings invite you to see the drama of life through her eyes: solitary flowers adopt stunning attitudes; marsh scenes evoke powerful moods;  and shorebirds strike majestic poses.  Her enthusiasm and passion for her art is apparent.

Her work has received numerous awards and has been selected and sold in several major fund raising efforts.   Currently it is being shown at John Tucker Fine Arts in Savannah, GA and at My Sister’s Gallery in Sandwich, MA.  She is a juried artist member of the Cape Cod Art Association, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod and The Landings Art Association of Savannah, GA as well as a member of the Southern Watercolor Society.  Recently, her works, “Window Dressing” and "Delicious" were juried into the Cape Cod Art Association’s New England Show.
